Database Administrator (Oracle DBA)
USER is looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our Oracle database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, integrity, and security, as well as supporting backup and recovery, tuning, and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and optimise Oracle database environments.
- Implement and manage Oracle RAC environments.
- Perform database installations, upgrades, and patches.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitor database performance and tune for optimal efficiency.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Automate common database maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database design.
- Implement and maintain database security measures.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Conduct regular security audits and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
- Proven experience implementing and managing Oracle RAC.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl) for automation.
- Preferred Skills:
– Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification
– Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
– Familiarity with database compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA)
– Experience with other database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
