ICT Infrastructure Engineer (Unix Engineer and SRE)

We are seeking a skilled ICT Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Unix systems and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical infrastructure. You will manage Unix-based environments, automate operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability and deployment processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain RHEL systems across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Design, implement, and support OpenShift container platforms.
  • Administer and troubleshoot JBoss application servers.
  • Utilise Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and configuration management.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and operations.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical system support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Unix/Linux administration, with a focus on RHEL system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in supporting Messaging Queue platforms (e.g. IBM MQ, Active MQ, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of OpenShift container platform administration.
  • Proficiency in using Red Hat Satellite for system management.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and at least one programming language (e.g.,Python)
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Zabbix, ELK stack)
